State of Michigan
The new Michigan Veterans Home in Chesterfield Township was constructed to serve the large veteran population in Southeast Michigan. Located on a 103-acre site, the Southeast Michigan Veterans Home features a small house concept that houses 128 residents in a modern, home-like setting and provides state-of-the-art care. Each occupant has their own bedroom and bathroom, with access to common gathering and kitchen spaces.
The neighborhoods connect to a main 33,000 s.f. community center which houses administrative offices, occupational and physical therapy spaces, and amenities like a multi-faith prayer room, café and bistro, barbershop, beauty parlor, multipurpose rooms, and a large space for full membership and community gatherings. The surrounding grounds are designed for additional recreation and exercise opportunities, with walking paths and gardens.
