Olympia Development of Michigan
Located in the District Detroit between the Little Caesars Arena and Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business, this new mixed use office building will be home to a combination of office, medical and retail tenants. The five-story, 130,000-square-foot building will have a mix of retail and restaurant spaces on the first floor, with several office spaces on the second through fifth floors.
Christman and L.S. Brinker, a joint venture team, have been a partner to Olympia Development of Michigan (ODM) since the early stages of the project, supporting the owner through a shift in the design team and collaborating on roughly 25 exterior facade iterations and various budget exercises within the first 12 months.
The team used Building Information Modeling (BIM) to pre-plan and coordinate all the mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades. This has allowed for each trade to seamlessly install their systems. A true team effort, all project team members worked together to ensure the goals of ODM were achieved.
Despite numerous changes to the design and floor plans, the project team has been able to maintain the overall construction schedule and work through nearly $4 million in scope changes.
