Doug oversees all aspects of operations for the Christman Building Innovation Group (CBIG). In his capacity, he guides CBIG in providing enhanced service, cost-effectiveness, safety solutions, technological advancements, and innovative practices for nationwide self-perform operations. Doug initially joined Christman in 2001 as a project manager, steadily advancing through the ranks. He assumed the role of director of concrete operations in 2007, became vice president of Christman Constructors, Inc., in 2009, progressed to executive vice president in 2014, and ultimately took on the position of president in 2016.
In 2021, Doug assumed the role of president of CBIG. Before joining Christman, Doug dedicated four years to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he served as a commissioned officer. Following his military service, he transitioned to a national concrete construction services firm. Doug is an active member of the American Society of Concrete Contractors Safety and Risk Management Council and holds associate memberships with the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Committee 207-Mass Concrete and ACI Committee 347-Formwork. Additionally, he is a registered professional engineer in both Michigan and Virginia. Doug assumes a leadership role in Christman’s mass timber endeavors, overseeing and providing guidance in estimating, procurement, operations, scheduling, safety, and budgetary matters. In 2021, Doug was honored with Michigan State University’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award.
