The Knoxville branch of The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Tennessee has honored Christman with a Build Knoxville Award for the Morristown-Hamblen West project.
Morristown-Hamblen West, an extension of the Covenant Health and Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System, is a 67,000-square-foot facility featuring an emergency room, diagnostic center and medical offices. The state-of-the-art facility plays a vital role in enhancing healthcare services in Morristown, Tennessee.
The Build Knoxville Awards were presented on Jan. 25 and highlight the area’s best construction projects. Winning projects are selected based on management, innovation, safety, environmental considerations, client service and community relations.
“Receiving the Build Knoxville Award is a testament to our team’s dedication and hard work,” Marty Gibbs, senior vice president and general manager for The Christman Company’s Knoxville operations, said. “The Morristown-Hamblen West project represents our commitment to excellence and our passion for contributing to the well-being of the communities we serve.”
The project stands out for its successful management of significant geographical and supply chain challenges. The team mitigated 17 sinkholes, managed 45,000 tons of excavated rock and navigated supply chain disruptions with adaptable strategies to ensure project continuity.
In addition to the Build Knoxville Award, last month the Morristown-Hamblen West project earned a 2023 Annual Excellence in Construction® Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors Greater Tennessee Chapter.
