Lansing School District

2016 District Wide Bond Improvements

When Lansing School District saw a need for improved buildings and increased student opportunities, they successfully brought the issue to community members through a 2016 bond issue, partnering with Christman for leadership of bond issue development, bond campaign and implementation.

The project included additions and renovations to 12 schools. These district-wide improvements were necessary to prepare buildings for the district’s new Pathway Promise academic plan, allowing students to select from three educational tracks beginning in elementary school – biotechnology, visual performing arts or science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The Pathway Promise offers students placement in a thematic high school of their choice and a guaranteed college scholarship.

Construction projects included renovations and upgrades to three elementary schools, additions and renovations to the district’s two magnet schools, additions and renovations to two high schools, new soccer and football fields, a new track, replacement of tennis courts and softball fields, and district-wide improvements to
technology, security infrastructure, furnishings, and general building remodeling including roofing, windows, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
