The Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Dallas was built as an advanced outpatient cancer treatment center on the Baylor University Medical Center campus. The project included construction of a ten-story structure with underground parking, a dedicated central utility plant and a radius skybridge.
At the peak of construction, 30 different trades and 520 construction personnel worked on the job site at one time. The exterior radial curtain wall facade incorporates radius glass and sloped curtain wall, masonry, glass fiber reinforced concrete, composite aluminum panel system, and parapets. Also included in this project were clinical and non-clinical spaces for various tenants. The non-clinical space includes business offices for administration as well as physician offices. The public areas include a full-service kitchen, dining room, specialty appearance center, gift shop, education center, healing garden, physical therapy area, and a chapel. The penthouse level features a complete conference center and auditorium. This project earned LEED Gold Certification.
