Baylor Scott & White

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at McKinney

The Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at McKinney is a six-level cast-in-place structure with a half-basement designed to support two additional floors. The hospital opened in July 2012 with 95 licensed beds. The fourth and fifth floors were shelled for future finish out of 96 additional patient rooms. The 58-acre site includes a helipad, healing garden, retention pond and water well as well as surface parking. Christman (then MEDCO Construction) led the BIM process with all major MEP trades. After construction started, LEED certification became a goal and the project is on target for receipt.

The first floor of the building includes surgical services, imaging, heart and vascular services, an intensive care unit, and emergency department. The second floor is dedicated to women’s services, with the third floor focused on medical/surgical and telemetry suites as well as a dialysis suite. The basement level includes a dining area, materials management, laboratory, pharmacy, and large auditorium.
