Baylor Scott & White Waxahachie Heart Hospital and Medical Office Building

This three-story, 79,601 s.f. ground-up heart hospital and medical office building was part of a $47 million campus expansion. The new facility includes a full-service heart hospital connected to the main campus via a skybridge, a hybrid OR, cath lab, patient rooms, emergency department, kitchen, and support services. Also included in the medical office building are three full-service clinics focused on cardiology, multi-specialty and sports medicine/orthopedics.

This project involved a high level of coordination as the existing facility needed to
relocate its emergency department parking lot and drop-off areas prior to commencing work. From there the project team began work on the new parking lot adjacent to the helipad while the existing 3-foot storm line was relocated and the building pad was prepped. As construction continued, the team coordinated shutdowns and tie-ins with the main hospital, as well as the connection of the new skybridge on level two.
