The new Godfrey Hotel, Perennial Apartments and associated parking deck have created a vibrant live/work/play environment in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood. Godfrey Hotel is a 227-room luxury lifestyle hotel that features a ground floor restaurant, lobby bar and the largest outdoor rooftop lounge in Detroit.
Perennial Corktown offers 188 apartments with best-in-class service and high-end finishes. Amenities include work from home spaces, a private dining room with chef’s kitchen, fitness center, dog washing station and an expansive pool deck and outdoor lounge.
The project also included a new 227 space pre-cast parking structure. The structure features electric vehicle charging stations, retail spaces and an exterior facade that beautifully complements Godfrey Hotel and Perennial Corktown.
Working on a tight urban site, the team secured adjacent lots for laydown and material staging as well as construction parking to eliminate impacts to the area. To ensure a pleasant experience for neighbors and community members, the team limited noise-producing work to the hours of 8am-5pm and issued regular construction updates, even establishing a direct hotline to the project team for calls with questions or concerns.
