Montgomery College North Parking Garage

The North Parking Garage at Montgomery College’s Rockville campus features a facade of sleek metal panels and glass enclosed stair towers. This cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete garage has 918 parking spaces for faculty, staff and students. The garage also includes numerous sustainable design features, such as energy efficient building systems, low VOC sealants and coatings, and bioretention storm water management facilities. There are also 20 electric car charging stations in the garage. Landscaping around the structure helps integrate the garage into the campus environment. The parking garage is in the heart of the Montgomery College campus, with 15 feet separating the edge of the garage and the main campus drive on one side and less than 20 feet separating a major pedestrian sidewalk on the other. Working on a fully operational campus, the team adjusted the sequencing and timing of sitework to minimize the impact to campus operations.
