Kernersville Medical Center Expansion and Renovation

With the goal of providing comprehensive care to patients in a growing community, Novant Health partnered with Christman to complete a large expansion at Kernersville Medical Center.

A 5,752 s.f. addition to the emergency department made room for a new clean storage area, lounge, locker room and shell space. A new 13,655 s.f. intensive care unit was constructed directly above the operational emergency department and boasts eight intensive care beds and four OBS beds.

A new 28,253 s.f. state-of-the-art birthing center is home to spacious, modern rooms that offer an abundance of natural light and laboring tubs, a well-baby nursery and a c-section suite.

A new heart and vascular procedures lab includes invasive and non-invasive cardiac care, including vascular procedures, EP and imaging studies and catheterizations. The project team also completed an infrastructure addition for a new chiller in the Central Energy Plant.
