New Headquarters

TechSmith, a technology company located in East Lansing, Michigan, specializes in software for creating and sharing images and videos for training, tutorials, lessons, and everyday communications. The company’s desire to attract and enable the right talent ultimately led to a collaboration between Michigan State University (MSU), MSU Foundation and multiple community organizations to find the right location and building opportunity for TechSmith’s growing organization.

The solution was a five-acre site, part of the 140-acre Spartan Village (an aging housing complex constructed by Christman in the 1950s), on which Christman built a 62,500 s.f., two-story office building. MSU and its partners, including Kramer Management Group as the owner’s representative, turned to Christman to provide both development expertise for the project as well as to lead the construction.

Through this project, TechSmith consolidated five existing facilities into one new headquarters building.
