Presbyterian Homes of Tennessee
The Lodge at Shannondale is one of the largest retirement communities in the Knoxville area, situated on 7.5 acres and offering 96 one- and two-bedroom luxury apartments.
The two-story, 152,000 s.f. building offers a wide variety of amenities for its residents, including an indoor pool and jacuzzi, fitness center and physical therapy space. A “Main Street” area is home to a cafe, with additional areas for private dining and special family gatherings or events. Residents can also enjoy the use of a full-service salon, library and chapel all on site.
Christman provided value engineering, pre-construction and construction services on this community-focused building. The building was built with shallow foundations, structural steel, and light gauge metal studs and trusses that create mansard style roofs. The exterior features a combination of brick, stone, metal fascia cornice and EIFS finishes. Other features include backlit elliptical gypsum ceilings throughout, FRP columns, wrought iron railings and vaulted clerestory areas.
